MOVING YOUR HOT TUB EFFORTLESSLY

Stress causes a variety of illnesses which can wear down anybody. With a hot tub at home, you can come home to your very own spa at the end of the day, relax, get better sleep and feel refreshed and anew the very next day.

These reasons make the hot tub on great household staple. People come to love their hot tubs and find it an essential household appliance to keep them healthy and sane. Most hot tub owners simply cannot imagine life without their hot tub once they get used to it which is why they take it with them even when they move from one address to another. And now comes the big question: how do you easily move a hot tub?When people move, sometimes they hire professional movers to do the job for them so that they do not undergo through all that trouble of moving heavy objects themselves, especially if they have a lot of stuff. But some people also prefer to do the moving themselves and just rent a truck to move everything they have because they can save a lot of money doing so. If you’re one of those people who will do the moving yourself or if this is your first time moving your hot tub to a new address, here are some useful tips.

First you will need to gather a few materials to make your moving easier. The materials you need are two 2x4’s (or any thick wooden plank similar to a 2x4 if you do not have one), a furniture dolly or furniture trolley, some rope or straps, and at least two friends or helpers who can help you with the lifting.
First, make sure that your hot tub is completely empty before you try to move it. Next, tilt or lift one side of your hot tub, with the help of another person if it is too heavy, making one side higher and the other side on the ground. Take one piece of 2x4 and place it underneath the lifted side and rest your hot tub on it. Now you see why you need at least two helpers as two of you would do the lifting of one side and the other would place the 2x4 underneath the tub.
Next, take the other side, the one lowest to the ground and do the same. Lift the lowered side and place the other 2x4 underneath it. Now you have your hot tub off the ground, supported by 2x4’s. Next, position the furniture dolly underneath your hot tub, and take the 2x4’s off, making the hot tub rest on top of the dolly. Strap the hot tub in place and slowly push the tub easily towards your moving vehicle.
Now is the time you will need the aid of your two helpers (or more if needed) to lift the heavy hot tub onto your moving vehicle—unless of-course you have some sort of plank on your truck to just easily push the hot tub aboard. Once aboard, secure the dolly or position it in place where it does not move around too much and cause damage to the hot tub during transport.
When unloading the hot tub from the truck, do the same process in reverse.
