OPERATING YOUR HOT TUB APPROPRIATELY

A hot tub has long been regarded as an at-home pampering system. It serves as a luxury household item that provides numerous health benefits. It gives soothing massages through powerful jets fitted strategically in it to target key areas in the body which need the most massaging. It targets sore muscles ad areas like the back, the lower back, legs, shoulders and neck. Coming home to your very own hot tub spa is just like going to the spa every day, minus the travel time and cost. You have the massages and relaxing comforts of a spa right at the comfort of your own backyard. Buying a hot tub can sure cost you a lot as a regular one would cost you at least a thousand dollars. But the benefits it will give you are endless. A hot tub does not only serve the aesthetic appeal of your home, it relieves stress and makes you feel refreshed and invigorated each time.
Now, when you get your own hot tub, it can be quite perplexing to install in your home, especially if you have not had any prior experience installing big electrical objects like this. Normally, your retailer will install it for you and it is the best way to go. You could also hire a technician or electrician to do the installation and wiring for you. Experienced electricians can provide and set the appropriate power requirements of your hot tub and can also see to it that you consume as little electricity as you can to save up on monthly electrical bills.
Keep in mind to always consult your hot tub instruction manual for reference and power specifications. Hot tubs in the United States use the 220v requirement but most hot tubs are also compatible with lesser voltage, depending on the manufacturer. Always refer to the manual for any power specifications. If your country’s voltage is lower, say 110v like Japan, a hot tub bought in the U.S. might not work as it requires a higher voltage. Similarly, you might blow up the electrical circuit of a hot tub made for Japan’s 110v when you plug it onto a 220v outlet. Unless you’re hot tub is compatible universally, you should use a power adaptor or transformer to adjust the voltage to a higher or lower level.
Contrary to popular belief, wiring a hot tub is not as hard as you think, especially with the newer models. Unlike older models, newer ones usually employ an easy plug-and-go kind of system, just plug it and it’s good to go. It’s best to create a separate outlet for your hot tub though wherein it does not have to share an outlet with other household electrical appliances. This is ideal so that it does not have to compete or accidentally overload the electrical units. An outlet installed close by or at least 10 feet away from the tub is ideal. This should have a proper cover which would protect it from rain or snow and other outdoor elements (as hot tub are usually placed outside so outlets are too) as well as keep children and pets from playing with it.
As much as possible, keep the cables and wires that power your hot tub neat and tidied up together so they do not lay around and cause tripping and other accidents. It is also best that they are enclosed in waterproof casings to protect them and the people walking by as well.
