SOME ELECTRICAL CARE TIPS FOR YOUR HOT TUB

How do you have fun with your hot tub? A lot of people own hot tubs at home and this means instant fun for everyone! Yes, a hot tub offers a lot of health benefits. Form massaging capabilities to instant stress-reliever to just something to make you feel relaxed and invigorated after a hard day’s work, a hot tub spa offers all of that. Aside from all those wonderful benefits, as hot tub spa also spells luxury and pleasure. Luxury because any home gets an instant upgrade when hot tub spa is installed. And most of all, the hot tub is essentially a mini pool or a bath tub with “the works”. We all know that anything that is a small body of water is a fun thing to have at home. Kids go crazy over having a bubbling “mini pool” in the backyard and adults find that it is another way to enjoy each other’s company over some drinks and food.
However, a hot tub spa is not all fun and games. We still always have to remember that a hot tub is still a small body of water and is powered by electricity. We all know that water and electricity are a fatal combination if not used or dealt with properly. Fun can be very overwhelming that we tend to forget our safety precautions sometimes. It is essential that we keep in mind a few safety tips to make sure water and electricity do not cause unwanted accidents in the hot tub.
Your hot tub wirings should at least be waterproof. Some hot tub wirings are buried in the ground to save on space and if the hot tub is hard-wired into your home’s electrical system and is done by a trained electrician. However, if your wires and cables aren’t buried on the ground, have they at least water proofed. You may enclose wires in waterproof rubber wire casings which you can find at local hardware and electrical supplies store. Also, make sure the wires do not cause a clutter and cause people to trip on them. You may want to stick the wires on your all with staples or duct tape or you may also place a walking mat over them to cover them and keep people from tripping on them.
Have a separate electrical outlet installed at least 10 feet away from your hot tub. It is best if your hot tub does not share an outlet with other household appliances so it does not have to compete with power usage. Also, the outlets should at least (again) be 10 feet away, or more from the hot tub. This is so that it does no accidentally get wet when people splash water around. Also make sure that your outlet has a proper outlet cover. An outlet covers keeps children and pets from playing with them. You know how children can very curious, like pets too who sometimes even chew on your things. An outlet cover will act like a childproofed something to keep pets away. An outlet cover not only keeps children and pats away but it also protects the outlet from natural elements like the rain, snow, etc.
Do not bring any electrical appliances or electronic gadgets in the hot tub. If you must enjoy watching TV while you soak in your tub, keep the TV at east 10feet away to avoid getting the TV wet and also avoid an accident such as the TV falling over and onto the hot tub spa’s water causing electrocution. Similarly, do not bring hair dryers not cell phones and laptops in the hot tub. Your phones and laptop s might fall into the water, causing you to lose important files and data.
